The Stone Rejected by the Builders

There is only one name by whom you are to be saved: Jesus Christ.

There is only one cornerstone of our faith.

He is the Good Shepherd, who lays down His life for His sheep.

The stories about the builders rejecting the cornerstone and the Good Shepherd are among the most colorful and memorable stories in the New Testament. These stories illustrate the simplicity and power of the way stories communicate a message and convince us of that message.

The readings for this weekend also make clear that we have a choice to make. We can recognize Jesus as the cornerstone or reject Him. We can follow the Good Shepherd or we can run away when the wolf scatters the sheep.
