Well, this is our last full week of Ordinary time before Ash Wednesday next week. It is a good time to start thinking about what you want to accomplish this upcoming Lent. So often, we try to do something for Lent but when Easter comes, we go back to where we were before. It was as if we only had a temporary fix in our life. It would be much better if we could start something in Lent and then carry it out the rest of the year and basically the rest of our life.
If you think about it, the same is supposed to happen with Reconciliation or Confession. We make the firm amendment to not to sin again. After our absolution we are to ask, through prayer, when tempted again not to fall to that temptation. It does take a conscience effort to keep trying. Jesus fell three times, but He did not give up. We have to do the same and not give up on overcoming our weakness. “Lord Jesus, help us overcome our sinfulness.
Thanks to all who organized, worked and supported our Trivia Night last weekend!
Thanks to all who every month help us to come together as a parish through Sunday donuts and refreshments to meet each other and share some time together!
