The Volunteer Spirit is Alive in Our Parish and Community!
Thank You!
I want give many thanks to Catherine Frankenberg and Mary Alice Alfermann for their leadership of the parish rummage sale every summer for the last seventeen years. They have truly been a gift to the parish. They have helped with others to raise thousands of dollars for our parish.
This is one of the many fundraisers which help keep us in the black because you can see in the weekly bulletin that our Sunday collection does not cover all our expenses. Thanks to all of our volunteers.
Steubenville Conference
My Steubenville experience in Springfield was great. I was a part of many positive experiences there. Some of these very teens worked our Vacation Bible School this week. There were many youth at the conference who declared that they were thinking about the priesthood or religious life. I realize that they still have a long journey ahead of them, but let us pray for them. There were over 4,200 youth and there were over 2,700 confessions listened to by some 60 priests.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School was great this week. The theme was "God has made us and He has a purpose for me and you." We had over 60 children attend, and over 50 of our youth from 6
th grade through high school provided leadership and help to all those children, especially the preschoolers. Kyra Gulledge and her youth groups helped to organize the whole event.
It's Fair Week!
This week is, of course, Fair week! The SFB scouts (boys and girls), band, and the Pro-Life trip participants will all share in working various days in a booth. East Central Pro-Life group will have a tent display promoting Pro-Life. Please pray for a great week as it benefits so many groups in our community and our community itself.
