There is a changing of the guard. As I attend parish meetings, there is a real concern about who will be taking over the reins of some of our organizations.
For instance, today is the final display of the work of our crafters because there is no one volunteering to step up and help take over this beautiful ministry and group in the parish. The Ladies Sodality, who is putting on their breakfast this morning, is looking for more women to join their group. The Athletic Association is looking for new board members as the current board is completing their terms. There is a need for some ushers at our weekend Masses. There is also a need to have more Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers for Communion at weekend Masses.
We have had a number of new parishioners join the parish during this past year. This is one way that new parishioners can get involved in the parish. Do not wait to be asked; why don’t you ask first?
The Advent season is short this year because we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent on Sunday, December 24, and then come back to celebrate Christmas Eve that very night. I hope that you will use the Little Blue Books to prepare yourselves for Christmas this year.
