Lord, it is good that we are here!
Matthew 17:4

The Parish Life Ministries at Saint Francis Borgia seek to welcome, connect and foster friendships in the parish community, within the parish ministries and beyond our liturgies. These ministries provide parishioners with opportunities to grow and share our Christian faith lives through active participation in parish groups and events.

Prayer Groups

Contemplative Prayer Group

The Contemplative Prayer Group is a Christian community of people committed to the Christian Contemplative path in the world.

They meet the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in Notre Dame Hall.

Concert Prayer Series

Concerts with SFB Choir, Children’s Choir, Combined Christian Choirs of Washington and Guest Concerts are held throughout the year. See bulletin for dates and times.

Divine Mercy Workers

The Divine Mercy Workers seek to live and share the message of Jesus, the Divine Mercy, and set hearts on fire for Him under the mantle of the Blessed Mother. We spend time in prayer, study and corporal and spiritual works mercy. These activities increase understanding and deepen the message within our hearts and help us become missionaries in the world.

The prayer focuses on the Divine Mercy chaplet, the novena, and the 3:00 Hour of Mercy. We pray, in a particular way, for the sick and dying and for mercy on the whole world.

Our study includes scripture, the Catechism, the Diary of Saint Faustina and other mercy saints. We also participate in and offer parish-based retreat programs.

One of the ways we are sharing the message is to distribute the Image of Jesus Divine Mercy along with books and pamphlets to individuals, parishes and the larger community. We do this through framed pictures, cemetery and yard signs, and larger highway signs. These are providing people with a message of hope they can find in the love and mercy flowing from the Heart of Jesus.

Meetings are held monthly, the third Wednesday of each month after 7:00 am Mass in the Choir Room of Jesuit Hall. Please join us if you are interested!

Grateful Hearts Prayer Group

We give entirely to the Lord in song, spontaneous prayer, scripture, praise and thanksgiving. We may have a teaching or a scripture given with a time for reflection and sharing, after which there will be time for petitions and needs to be brought to the attention of the community.

They meet on Mondays at 7:00 PM in the Church Cry Room.

Prayer Tree

These ministers set aside some time every day to pray for the intentions they receive. If you would like to request prayers for your special intention, please contact Janet Boland (636-390-0026) or the parish office (636-239-6701).

Followers of Saint Francis

The Followers of St. Francis (Secular Franciscans) are lay men and women who follow in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. They gather for prayer, work for justice and peace, and help meet the needs of the poor.

Bible Breaks: Short and Simple Bible Stories for Kids --

The Bible Breaks Stories for Kids will help you set aside just a few minutes during your day to read and reflect on a God’s Word with your kids. Each short and simple story is written to help you teach children ages 6-12 the most important lessons of the Christian life from Sacred Scripture.  As kids in your family get older, invite them to read and lead the discussion with younger siblings.  Click here for more information and to learn how to receive "God's Word Wednesday Weekly Newsletter" - a new Bible Story to share with your kids every week.

My Catholic Kids Website

During the coronavirus national emergency, this website is making their library of Mass videos for the Children’s Missalette available free to all! If you and your children are unable to attend Mass, this is the perfect time to help them better understand the Mass in an environment where kids can ask questions and watch related content. That’s what this page is for! Click here to check out all of their Catholic resources!

Catholic Icing Website

When Mass isn’t an option, especially long term, it becomes all the more important to send the message to your kids that even though you can’t attend Mass, Jesus is still a priority in your home. So here are some weekly Mass resources for kids that are good year round!
