WELCOME TO SAINT FRANCIS BORGIA PARISH!

Whether you are a visitor or new to our parish, interested in becoming Catholic, seeking to return to the practice of your faith, or an active member of our parish, we are pleased that you have come to our website. On these pages, you will learn about Saint Francis Borgia, its’ activities and ministries and get a glimpse of who we are. For a more personal look, I encourage you to come visit us to meet our church family by attending our liturgies and participating in our parish activities.

St. Francis Borgia Church is located in downtown Washington, Missouri. Our parish is blessed with a rich history of Catholic stewardship and tradition.  This area was first settled by twelve German Catholic families in 1834.  They were served by the Jesuits until 1890, and after that the Franciscans ministered to the parishioners here for 96 years. The Sisters of Notre Dame also had a presence here of 145 years, teaching in our parish grade and high schools.

Our parish has grown from the original twelve families in 1834 to over 1,400 registered families today. Our mission, then and now, is to live according to the Gospel through worship, education and service, and to create a parish environment where all may feel welcome, affirmed and part of this Christian family.

If there is anything I or the staff can help you with, please either phone or email us. We hope that our website will be one of the many ways you stay connected to our parish community. Please join us on the weekend for Mass. We would love to meet you in person!

Welcome and have a great day!

Father Jeff Maassen, Pastor
